overwhelmed...in a good way.

So I guess the best way to describe this week so far is overwhelming. Don't be confused; I don't mean this in a bad way. Rather, I mean that I'm discovering new ways to serve and new areas in which service is needed, which is both exciting and slightly daunting. Obviously, you can't feed all of Atlanta's poor and cure AIDS and teach in inner-city schools and...and...and... There's so much need, but if you're going to be effective in making a dent in the world's problems, then you inevitably will have to choose a cause. It's a hard choice, but listening to Mr. Bolling (okay, so maybe I'm not on a first name basis yet...haha) speak the other day, it was clear that you have to choose what you already enjoy doing.

On another note, I really, really enjoyed the Georgia Ave Co-op yesterday. Being a really organized person, it makes me feel really good to see ministries being run as efficiently as possible, and the Co-op was definitely efficient. However, it felt much more personal than most "systems." The people loved eachother and Rev. Chad so much, and their appreciation was contagious. They definitely made me reevaluate my priorities and think twice about how fortunate I am.

YAY for ACFBYLS!!

I have read the writings of the people involved in the ACFB YOUTH LEADERSHIP SUMMIT AND I AM SO IMPRESSED WITH THE PARTICIPANTS HONEST RESPONSES TO WHAT THEY ARE EXPERIENCING. It must be some kind of program with BRIGHT teenagers...I mean how many times do you hear savy teenagers say "overwhelmed...in a good way." I just have to say BRAVO TO ALL! from an experienced Educator!

I deffinatly agree with you about your comments on feeling somewhat overwhelemed. You are absoulutly right about your statement. "You cant feed all of Atlanta's poor and cure AIDS and teach in the inner-city schools and...and..." Yet its an eye opener. Seeing Atlantas issues is a very powerful thing. It helps you to realize what you have and the variety of options and connecions you as a individual have. Although no single person can change the world, that single person can be a stepping stone for another person. They can spark the minds of others. Change is a working process it can't be all done in one day.
